A comforting dessert made with rice, milk, and spices that is cooked slowly in a crockpot until it is thick and tasty.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup raisins optional
Instructions:
Run cold water over the rice until the water is clear
Put the rice that has been rinsed, milk, heavy cream, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins if using in a slow cooker
Mix things together well
Cover and cook on low for two to three hours, stirring every now and then, until the rice is soft and the pudding is smooth
You can serve it warm or cold, and if you want, you can add more cinnamon on top
