Indulge in the flavors of Greece with these homemade lamb gyros. Tender lamb patties seasoned with Mediterranean spices, served in warm pita bread with refreshing tzatziki sauce, fresh vegetables, and herbs.
Ingredients:
- 500g lamb mince
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita bread rounds
- Tzatziki sauce
- Chopped tomatoes
- Sliced red onion
- Lettuce leaves
Instructions:
Add minced lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, thyme, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to a bowl
Cut the mixture into small pieces and press them into thin patties
In a nonstick pan set over medium heat, cook the lamb patties for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked
You can use a pan or the microwave to warm up the pita bread rounds
You can put tzatziki sauce on each round of pita bread
Chopped tomatoes, sliced red onion, and lettuce leaves should be put on top
Turn the gyros over and serve them hot
