Rice Paper Dumplings

Coventry Group Hookups

These rice paper dumplings are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional dumplings. They are filled with a flavorful mixture of pork, shrimp, mushrooms, and water chestnuts, and can be cooked either by pan frying or air frying. Perfect for a cooking carnival

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ground pork
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped shrimp
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package rice paper wrappers
  • Oil for pan frying or cooking spray for air frying

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, mushrooms, water chestnuts, minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, salt, and pepper

Mix well to make the filling

Take one rice paper wrapper, dip it in warm water for about 10 seconds until it becomes pliable

Place it on a clean surface

Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of the wrapper

Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then fold the bottom and roll it up tightly to form a dumpling

Seal the edges with a little water to make sure it sticks together

For Pan Fried Dumplings: Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat

Place the dumplings in the pan and cook until the bottoms are golden brown

Add a few tablespoons of water to the pan, cover, and steam for about 5-7 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked through

For Air Fried Dumplings: Preheat your air fryer to 375F 190C

Place the dumplings in a single layer in the air fryer basket

Spray them with cooking spray

Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until they are crispy and cooked through, shaking the basket halfway through cooking

Serve the rice paper dumplings hot with your favorite dipping sauce
